Wee One Bug

Hello everyone, another card made from one of my images that I have watercoloured but this time around I have added some details with pens afterwards.

10 06 BugBoy

This cute little image is called Wee Little Bug from Bugaboo Digital Images and is still available. This card started with a sketch from Stella Says Sketch #716

But I will also be putting this card into the Anything Goes Challenge over at the Catch the Bug Challenge site.

I kept this card on the simple side because I wanted to let the watercolour image to be the main star. I had a lot of fun both colouring in the image and making up the card as well.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project today. I appreciate all of the likes and comments on my posts. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on.

If you want to add a little spring to your decor and love peonies as much as I do then you will love these free printable spring peony art in four quotes.

Until next time, enjoy the season you are in,

Hobnail Tulips

Hello everyone, as I mentioned in my last post I made 2 cards with the same image from Power Poppy. Well here is the other card from that pair.

09 25 Vase Tulips 2

As I also mentioned in the last post this card started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #582. And here it is again for your reference.

I have used the same die that I used on the previous card to make the swirl but I have only adjusted it a little to fit on the card. This time around I have used a Get Well Soon sticker from my stash. The paper that I have used on both cards comes from that large stash of Recollections Black and White Paper Pad it gives a little bit of pattern without overwhelming my watercolour panels which I wanted to be the focal point.

Thanks for stopping into my blog and having a look at my card project. I want to also say thanks for all the comments and likes on my blog I really appreciate it. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought to ponder on for this post.

Until we meet again, always remember that you matter,

Tulip Vase

Hello everyone, today I am actually bringing you 2 cards made with the one image from Power Poppy. I haven’t done this to an image for a while but this image just cried out for it to be done.  Here is a photo of the 2 cards together and then I will concentrate on one card at a time with a close up of the image.

09 25 Vase Tulips

But this card actually started with a sketch from Sketch Saturday #582.

You can see how I have used this sketch with the halves of the picture. I flipped the sketch just so that it suited the 2nd side. This image was coloured in with some watercolour paints onto some rough watercolour paper that I put through my printer to get this image. The image is called “Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher Digital Stamp Set” and it is still available. You can also buy it as a clear photopolymer stamp set as well. I love images from Power Poppy they can be used for so many different occasions. This was my first time using watercolour paints since I was in high school.

Here is the Happy Anniversary Card just by itself.

09 25 Vase Tulips 1

I didn’t have a die that came near the sketch so I used the curliest one that I could find. I matted each layer with maroon card stock and added the Happy Anniversary sticker from my stash. The 3 hearts were on the same sticker sheet so I added them to the top right and that finished off this side of the image 🙂

Thanks for coming to my blog today and looking at my card project. I hope that you like what I did with this sketch. I am grateful for all of the comments and likes on my posts. And as always I would like to leave you with this image to ponder on before you go.

Rose Hill.

Until next time, find something that you love and do it!

52CCT September Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone,
It is the 3rd week of September which means it is time for a theme challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Myrna has chosen this theme for us to play with

03 Theme

I thought that I had plenty of bear images that would be suitable for use on a Christmas card. I have bear images but not many that would go on Christmas cards. This is the card that I came up with

52CCT 09 2019 wk3 Theme

This bear is quite a large image but I wanted to try using watercolour pencils so having a larger image to work with made this first time a little more workable. I did use too much water but I used my trusty heat tool to dry it out 🙂 It’s definitely not perfect but I liked how it turned out. The Christmas lights stamp came from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called “Baah Humbug” which is still available. The paper behind bear is from my stash and has been sitting in there for years just waiting to be used.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my Design Team work for 52CCT. I hope that you will stop in on the blog and maybe even play along with our Theme challenge. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought for this post

Until next time, do something that you love,

Make A Wish

09 25th Make a Wish.JPG

Hello Everyone,
Today the card that I am sharing is actually part of a 5 card set that I made. I decided to have some fun and just create some backgrounds and cards using the same set of materials. For this card I used a card sketch from Sketch Saturday #532 by Jessie – this is what it looks like

The products that I used for the card was a paper pack from my stash, the background which I created with a simple pan of watercolours, some watercolour paper cut to 10cm X 14.4cm and the My Favourite Things Sketched Blooms Stamp Set plus their Black Hybrid Ink.  To cut out the square element I used my Stitched Square Dies from Uniquely Creative.  The rest of the elements where cut using my paper trimmer. The black brads are from my stash.

I sometimes like making simple styled cards because I find I have to stop myself from adding more and more elements. I think that this sketch may become a favourite of mine.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

The Beauty of handmade Lies in the imperfections. Anything perfect is machine made.

In every project that I make there is a little imperfection. It is the quirk of handmade of which I love. I love seeing the artist in their work. Nothing in this world is true and perfect unless it is made by God. I am the perfect me because God made me. I am never perfect except in the eyes of God and I am very OK with that.

Believe in Yourself

Hello Everyone,

How hard is it for us to believe in ourselves?

I actually find this quite challenging especially since I was diagnosed with a long term illness over 18 years ago. The things that I once did without even thinking are numerous and  it amazing how much I now have to plan things.  And sometimes I don’t get all of my plans done … so doubts about myself have/do creep in and I find it hard to believe in my abilities.  But I know that I am on a journey with my God and He does have it all worked out even though I find it hard to continue to trust the path that has been set. Why am I so certain of this ….. because it is written many times in the Bible but this verse is my favourite

2 Samuel 22:33
God is my protection [is my strong fortress; or girds me with strength].
He makes my way free from fault [perfect; secure; a wide path].

I wanted to make this card for a friend who is going through some stuff just to let her know that she can believe in herself and things will get better.  I made this card based on these 2 challenges:

I loved the colour combo #ctd497 being used at the moment over at Color Throwdown and then I found the Sketch #276 by Chrissy over at CASe this Sketch. I knew exactly how to pull this sketch and colour combo together with my new Uniquely Creative supplies. And this is result

Believe in You Jun2018.jpg

I had so much fun using the supplies from the June Stamp & Colour plus some colour paper from my stash.  The first step was to stamp and colour the cute dogs and pillows from the Dreamy Stamp Set, I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils for the dogs and some Derwent Watercolor Pencils to colour the pillow stack.

Then it was onto creating the colourful spotty background. This was a time consuming process but I am so happy with how it turned out. I first cut the dots from the cream coloured card stock using my Cuttlebug and the Sprinkle Dots Background Die which comes as part of the June kit. Then I backed 4 pieces of paper from my stash trying to match the Color Throwdown combo as close as I could with Double Sided Sticky paper and ran these through my Cuttlebug.  Then I had to find where the pieces matched up with the original cream piece but placing them was so much easier thanks to the double sided paper.

Then I assembled the card after cutting out the dogs and pillows by hand. My ScanNCut may have to make a reappearance because it is getting much hard for me to do fine scissor work as my hands get worse with pain. After attaching the images I used my stamp press to make the sentiment out of 2 separate sentiments so that it would say what I wanted. I love using my stamp press for doing this kind of thing and especially if I don’t get a good impression the first time I can repeat the stamping.

And that was the end of the outside of my card. I am happy that you stopped by to look at my project today, but before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought:
Every time you find some humor in a difficult situation, you win.
This says it all really. If you can find the good in the horrible then it doesn’t seem so bad. I know this to be true – sometimes I forget to do this!

Penguin Slide

Hello everyone,
Welcome to 2018.  We are already 4 days in and I am already wishing that we were in February 😦  I can deal with high temperatures but not the humidity. Feeling like a limp rag doesn’t exactly prompt you to do much.

But I am lucky to have air-con in my house so I have been able to continue to craft – which I am truly grateful because I really cant deal with not being able to do any of my stress relieving activities.

Anywho – onto the card
PenguinSlide
Aren’t these penguins just the cutest? Once I saw this image that I had used my watercolour pencils on ages ago I knew I had to use it on a card. And crafting with these cool colours helped with being so hot. I am having so much fun making some Clean and Simple cards. This cards inspiration came from 3 challenges.

And first was the card sketch Freshly Made Sketches #318
a3344-fms2bfinal2b318-001
and then Cards in Envy – Winter Chills Challenge

and also Shopping Our Stash – Watercolor With Us

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card creation. Please consider joining in on any of the challenges. As always before you leave I would like to leave you with this thought:

I am having to do this more and more of late. I wonder how much I will have to abide by this during the coming year?
